Custom Embroidered Hats: What to Know Before You Order
June 9, 2026 · Los Angeles Printing Depot

Hats are one of the best-value custom items — an embroidered logo turns a plain cap into branded gear people wear everywhere. A few things to know before you order.
Structured vs. unstructured
Structured caps (stiff front panel) hold a tall, crisp shape — great for a bold front logo. Unstructured ("dad hat") caps are soft and low-profile for a relaxed look. Both embroider well; it's mostly a style call.
How your logo becomes stitches
Embroidery is sewn, so your art is first digitized into a stitch file. Solid shapes and bold lettering translate beautifully; very fine lines, tiny text, and intricate detail can get muddy because thread has a minimum size. If your logo has hairline details, we'll suggest a slightly simplified version for the cap so it stays crisp.
Plan around the space
- Front: roughly a few inches wide — perfect for a primary logo.
- Side / back: smaller marks, initials, or a date.
- Beanies: a folded cuff is the natural spot for a compact logo.
Thread colors are matched to your brand, and digitizing is a one-time step — reorders are quick. Start your hat in the designer or send your logo and we'll handle the stitch file.
